Wine meets whiskey in the Financial District at Vintry Wine & Whiskey, a dark and lavishly designed den of globe-spanning spirits. On the (staggeringly long) booze menu: more than 80 wines from around the world, all available in two- or eight-ounce pours, and more than 100 single-malt whiskeys, from Ireland to Japan to Kentucky. The décor is opulent-masculine, with wooden vines writhing above and below the redwood bar, leather-bound stools and a smattering of candlelit, marble-top tables. In addition to the wine and whiskey, specialty cocktails and small plates—like caviar, ricotta gnocchi and lobster-stuffed mushrooms (most in the $8-$16 range)—are also available.
