It's a big news day for Britney Spears: She and fiance Jason Trawick are over.
"Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement," the ex-X Factor judge says in a statement. "I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends."
Trawick added: "As this chapter ends for us, a new one begins. I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever."
"Britney Spears and Jason Trawick have mutually agreed to end their one-year engagement," her rep, Jeff Raymond, said as part of the statement. "As two mature adults, they came to the difficult decision to go their separate ways while continuing to remain friends."
Trawick was Spears's agent when the couple got engaged on his 40th birthday in December 2011. Trawick became Spears's co-conservator, along with her dad, Jamie Spears. TMZ reports that Trawick is no longer in that role; Jamie Spears is now his 31-year-old daughter's sole conservator again.
