Rooney Mara, the best-actress nominee for The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo lightened up her typical black palette with gossamer white Givenchy. "I had an idea of what I wanted from past collections which they've done," she said. The process took a few weeks. "The fabric is beautiful," she said. "Delicate. It's very light." It's a "modern, romantic, ethereal dress" — as Zen, perhaps, as her past few days: "It's been a pretty calm week." Her only adornments: a left-hand diamond and platinum ring from Fred Leighton and carmine lipstick.
