Well.... anyway... Allison Williams (second from left) is Marnie, who works in the art world not because she's passionate, but because it's what she thinks she should do. "People come up to me. I'm so new to it. It's all I've done. Thus they feel very close to me. Our show is so barebones and intimate. That's great, honestly. I feel very close to people who watch our show," she says. Like Marnie, Williams is no dilettante. "I've had a job since I was really little. My parents always instilled in me the value of hard work and a work ethic. They never dissuaded me from acting. What they did say was that they didn't want me to start until I graduated from college. I pushed against that briefly. I thought I'd be so old at 22. Now, looking back, I'm so grateful. College was the best gift they could have given me," says the Yale graduate.
