Earth Day!

Thistle & Clover’s Earth Day Trunk Show
From 4-7 p.m., this darling Fort Greene boutique will offer free sweets and champagne, as well as extending a 15 percent discount on the spring collections of two independent, Brooklyn-based designers, Francoise Olivas and Sublet.

GustOrganics Earth Day Pre-Fixe Menu
You really can't get any more green than GustOrganics. Not only does this Greenwich Village bar and restaurant serve only food made with USDA certified organic ingredients, but they are also the "first and only USDA-certified organic bar on the planet." So, it makes sense that GustoOrganics is going all out with an Earth Day pre-fixe menu. $29 gets you a three-course meal, but don't forget to order a Tru Vodka drink: for each cocktail ordered, the spirit company promises to plant a tree.

Earth Day at Il Buco
A New York favorite, NoHo's Il Buco is offering a week-long lunch special (April 21-25) wherein diners receive 15% off their total bill, and the restaurant will also donate 15% of the original bill to the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Amazon campaign. Save the rainforest, save a few bucks: it's all in a day's work.

Earth Day at Babeland
After giving away free Gold Digger vibrators for Tax Day, Babeland’s back on the promotional bandwagon for Earth Day with free vegan treats and reps from Lunapads and DivaCup doling out advice on how to make menstruation friendlier for the planet. Keep your eye on the real raffle price, though: a chance to win a hand-blown glass dildo.

Earth Day at Grand Central
Get to Grand Central early this weekend to stroll through the Green Pavilion, which will be previewing the latest in holistic health, eco-fashion, organic food, enviromental actions and more. Just don't forget to bring your old cell phones: on-site recycling stations will empower the green in us all.

Growing and Greening New York
An exhibit exploring the impact of a typical New Yorker's day in New York, as well as alternatives to help making these tasks more environmentally friendly. The exhibit focuses on six areas addressed by the Bloomberg Administration on creating greater sustanibility within the city by 2030, in the areas of water, transporations, energy, open space, land and climate change. The exhibit, and museum, will be free and open to the public on Earth Day, April 22.

Green Walking Tour of Lower Manhattan
Via the organizers: On this "Green" tour you'll learn about New York City's community gardens, open spaces, waterfronts and environmentally friendly commercial, residential and retail buildings. In addition, you'll visit a "living green" public memorial and come to understand what it takes to create a greater, greener New York. Tours lasts about 1 1/2 hrs. - 2 hrs. *Tour begins at the "Bull Statue" on Wall Street

Earth Day in Central Park
This Saturday, pack a picnic (in a reusable tote, of course) and bring the kids (your own, please) to see live music and dance performance, take part in tree care and composting demonstrations, learn about Park wildlife, get "crafty" with recycled materials and snack on healthy, local Greenmarket goods.
