Shrunken guests’ lists and canceled after-parties make it even harder this year to be apart of Fashion Week. Before you resort to just standing outside the Tents to catch a celebrity glimpse, we’ve found several events that are open to all and won’t cost too many Benjamins.
Oak Fashion Week Party
Get into the week’s stylish vibe at Oak’s “Back In The New Yoak Groove” party. And with the art-fashion boutique’s promise of an open Belvedere vodka bar, talented DJs and a complexgeometries fashion show, getting into a partying mood won’t be too hard. Be sure to rsvp at rsvp@oaknyc.com.
Where: Santos Party House, 96 Lafayette St., 212-584-5492
When: Monday, February 16, 9pm-2 am.
Williamsburg Fashion Weekend
It might not attract the high-heeled likes of Anna Wintour, but Williamsburg Fashion Weekend attracts the borough’s top design talent, from labels Mandate of Heaven to Sodafine. The best part? Access to the show costs mere eight dollars and includes an after-party.
Where: Glasslands Gallery, 289 Kent Ave., Brooklyn 718- 599-1450

‘Project Runway’s season five runner-up Korto Momolu will showcase her fall collection at this fundraiser event. Tickets are set at $100 with all benefits going towards the MacDella Cooper Foundation (MCF) to help abandoned and orphaned children in Liberia. After the show, party the night away with an open bar and DJ tunes by Dusko Justic. Plus, all tickets are tax-deductible.

Where: Nikki Beach Midtown 151 East 50th St.
Bland’s fashion presentation at the Asian Song Society
During Fashion Week, designer Theodoric Bland Willoughby’s Bland label will be showing “Lighting the Void” at the Asia Song Society. Part multi-media installation and fashion presentation, “Lighting the Void” is billed as a “meditation on the nebulous contours of blackness, absence and light.” We’re not quite sure what this means, but it is open to the public and Bland’s quirky accessories are to be sold on-site.
Where: Asian Song Society, 45 Canal St.
When: February 13-February 20
