NASCAR Champions Week
Hipsters beware: NASCAR's in town for a week of events
Since there isn't a racetrack in New York City, those in the Big Apple are kind of sheltered to just how popular NASCAR is (it is the No.1 spectator sport in the country). That is why every year the sport brings their Top-10, drivers on a week long tour of the city. This year's festivities will take place from Nov. 24-Dec. 2, starting in Times Square on "Good Morning America," and then weaving its way to the following events.

Checkered Flag Breakfast, Nov. 28 7-11 a.m.
VIP event held the morning of Victory Lap at the Hard Rock Café in Times Square.

Fan Fest, Nov. 28-29, 11:00 a.m.- 8:00 p.m.
Also at the Hard Rock Café Times Square, this time in the live venue room, this two-day event is free to the public and will feature driver and crew appearances, NASCAR trivia and prize giveaways, and a trophy display with the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Trophy, NASCAR Busch Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series trophies.

NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Award Cerimony, Nov. 30
At the Waldorf-Astoria on Park Avenue, the 2007 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series Champion will be officially named.

From Nov. 26-30 there will be more than a dozen authentic NASCAR stock cars placed at signature locations throughout Manhattan. We are not telling you where, it will be more fun for you to find them yourself. Or, you could cheat and check out the website, which also has more information on the events above.
