All-you-can-eat beef. All-you-can-drink beer. A proud gluttonous tradition is reborn.
November 8, 2009
A grand New York tradition in the late 19th century, the New York beefsteak is now a rare treat, having ceded ground to the Bergen County version. But much like Prohibition-era mixology and classic American workwear, the Beefsteak gets its hipster revival courtesy of this gluttonous fete at The Bell House last Sunday. Honestly, what's not to like? There's all-you-can-eat naturally raised beef from Pat LaFrieda, unlimited McSorley's ale, a presentation by two "beefsteak scholars," and hillbilly blues from Susquehanna Industrial Tool & Die Co. Sounds like a tradition that had no business dying out in the first place.

Good music, cool atmosphere, plenty of beer, not even close to all you can eat.
