Best dressed

To offset the youthful vigor, Tony took the time to fete women in their middle and old age. Hurrah for Angela Lansbury, who looked well-dressed and dignified, and Liza Minelli, who looked vivacious. So did Alice Ripley (“Next to Normal”), who won a deserved award for Best Actress (Musical) and who may've been the only woman over 40 without a stiff, botoxic smile.
