'Kandinsky' at the Guggenheim Museum

The Guggenheim’s year-long 50th anniversary party continues with “Kandinsky,” a full-blown retrospective of the visionary Russian artist and master of abstraction. Thirsty for experiences to feed his artistic passion, Kandinsky traveled extensively throughout Europe, surviving both the Russian Revolution and two world wars. Now, one hundred of his most iconic works, dating from 1907 to 1942, are on view September 18 through January 13, 2010. (The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, 212-423-3500, www.guggenheim.org)
