Admittedly, there are a lot of people who think ballet could improved by the addition of a progressive death metal soundtrack, but it took the geniuses at Ballet Deviare to finally do something about it. Since 2003 the Deviare company has put on a succession of dance performances that blend contemporary ballet with extreme sounds. Their latest, "Memento Mori," takes place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center (55 Lexington Ave. at 25th St., 646-312-4085) from May 23-25 and features the grinding music of Gwynbleidd. More information on the the performance and tickets can be found here; meanwhile, we got a taste of the show at an opening night preview. All we can say is, "Swan Lake" fans, be warned. —Kirk Miller
