American artist Alexander Calder (1898-1976) is known mainly for his mobiles and paintings, but he also designed an extraordinary amount of jewelry-over 1,800 pieces. In the first museum exhibit dedicated solely to Calder's fascination with bling, The Met has 90 unique pieces on display in "Calder Jewelry." Necklaces, earrings, bracelets, tiaras and more are all waiting to be admired through March 1, 2009. While there stop by the Medieval Sculpture Hall to feast your eyes the fabulous 20-foot Christmas tree with an eighteenth century Neapolitan Nativity scene.
