A behind the scenes look at the new cult musical
Fans of '80s late-night cable will recognize this face: “The Toxic Avenger,” New Jersey's own superhero! This cult classic is corroding a new set of minds as a rock musical, now running Off-Broadway, where the character Toxie receives his super-strength and extreme ugliness after a dip in nuclear waste. Metromix poked around backstage at New World Stages to see how the creators re-create the fictional town of Tromaville–Exit 13-B on the Jersey Turnpike. —Aaron Grunfeld
