March: Go green by celebrating St. Patrick's Day (twice!)
March 20 is the first day of spring, but we're betting it'll still be a deep-freeze out there. Fortunately, St. Patrick's Day (March 17) offers up two ways to keep warm: scrunching in the crowds lined up along Fifth Avenue for the St. Patty's Parade, and through the magic of Guinness. Get it twice by hitting the Hoboken St. Patrick's Day celebration (TBD).
Brooklyn Restaurant Week (TBD) offers prix-fixe deals for dirt-cheap prices at hundred of restaurants. For art lovers, The Armory Show (March 8-11) presents four days of contemporary art sales on the West Side. Still too cold to venture out? March Madness (March 11-April 2) doesn't come anywhere near the city, but the NCAA basketball tourney is a staple of the local bar scene (watch for our guide coming in March!).
Other highlights: Broadway Beauty Pageant (TBD), Purim (March 7-8), South by Southwest (March 9-18...if you can get down to Austin, Tex., like half of NYC seems to)
