A boozy basement bash toasts Cinco de Mayo with a free fiesta
What do you get when you mix free tequila, paper luchadore masks and a band from Puerto Rico and throw them all in the basement of a swanky hotel? You get a Cinco de Mayo party that will leave your ears ringing for days. Last night VICE Magazine and 1800 Tequila threw a fiesta at Good Units at the Hudson Hotel. The cavernous basement was filled to capacity with hipsters and suits clutching paper coffee cups brimful with free margaritas, while garage rockers Davila 666 put on a show in a wrestling ring that inspired some sweet air guitar moves and a little shoulder surfing. Luchadore wannabees mingled with real luchadores (somewhere in there), and the never ending line of partygoers donned masks that helped inspire the Mexican revolutionary mood.
