EAT: Pok Pok Wing
James Beard award winner and Portland, Oregon super-chef Andy Ricker has finally brought his big-flavored Asian fare to New York City with Pok Pok Wing, a chicken wings and booze joint. The space formerly occupied by another Far East fascinated chef, Eddie Huang and his sandwich shop Baohaus, is now serving up chicken parts in multiple iterations—some mouth burningly spicy, some tame—plus sides like papaya or jicama-carrot salads and sticky rice. The chef's brand of drinking vinegars will be available for quaffing which should be an interesting addition to the PBR and whiskey soaked neighborhood. Plans are in the works for a full-fledged Pok Pok restaurant in Brooklyn as well. (137 Rivington St. near Suffolk St.)
