A backstage tour of the RSC at the Park Avenue Armory
A photo and several swatches of fabric hint at the lovely designs that bring to life the cities, courts and countrysides of Shakespeare's five plays. The photo shows a costume being modeled by its wearer in mid-construction: a courtier in the Duke's retinue in “As You Like It”. The cut and patterning suggest a sumptuous Renaissance style.
