Dances of Vice: Enchantment Under the Sea
This weekend Dances of Vice, one of our favorite parties, celebrated its fourth anniversary at Morningside Castle with a prom straight out of 1955 with a healthy wink at "Back to the Future." Girls put on their party dresses, boys slicked back their hair and tied on the cumberbunds for the Enchantment Under the Sea dance and nearly everyone looked like they had a walk-on part in "Grease."
We spotted more than a few Sandra Dees, some Danny Zukos, Rizzo was there, but most importantly, Cha Cha aka "the best dancer at St Bernadettes" were all in the house. One intrepid guest mixed up 1955 with 1655, if you've got a frock coat, wear it, we say. There was jumping, jiving and even some wailing to tunes provided by Matthew Piazzi and the Debonairs, with some guest turns on the turntables by rockabilly hepcat, Seiji Sato...and we think we may have even spied the fab Michael T getting in on the action.
