Dances of Vice: Blade Runner
This past week Comic Con descended upon the City of New York and celebrated all things sci-fi, comic-related, super hero-inspired and dastardly outlandish villains. It all came to an end last night at the official 'Blade Runner'-themed after-party thrown by Dances of Vice at the subterranean Le Poisson Rouge.
Humans and replicants danced the night away to dark and avant garde music, but we were disappointed not to hear even a little bit of the spectacular Vangelis soundtrack to get the evening revved up. Darryl Hannah's acrobatic Pris inspired lots of facepaint, and Sean Young's Rachael made appearances with shoulder pads and pompadours, we spotted one Harrison Ford/Agent Decker and even Edward James Olmos' Gaff popped up with his origami unicorn, but we couldn't figure out a lot of the costumes. Renee Masoomian showed pieces from her elegant new line of latex clothing, and we've never seen Johanna Constantine's signature knife dance look so ominous.
