A festive Nordic art parade through Chelsea's gallery district.
Few art exhibitions open up with such theatrical flair as Dennis McNett's current solo show at Chelsea's Joshua Liner Gallery. Last night, McNett's kicked off his opening night with a lively viking parade anchored around a gigantic wood block print Nordic ship complete with drummers playing inside. Following the parade, metal band Natur performed a set in the gallery's loading dock area inside--what else--another Nordic ship. Continuing the festive spirit, people light off fireworks and launched homemade hot air balloons. Let's see a new MOMA exhibit top that!
