Vampire Ball
If Halloween is better than Christmas for you, then sit back and enjoy our scenes from last night's macabre Vampire Ball in the East Village, because Halloween came early to NYC. More super Goth than Twilight, this crowd came packing their own latex, blood bags and fangs, for an all-night dance fest to everyone's favorite Goth tunes.
Not wishing to exclude any creatures of the night, the vampires welcomed not just their own kind, we spied a burka-clad she-devil (from the Bronx), a fairy with a taste for hemoglobin, a mummy surrounded by his own enthusiastic sirens and some bloody belly dancers for good measure. Dropping in on the dark and mysterious festivities we caught Shien Lee of Dances of Vice taking a break from her own Disko Nouveaux party across town, the Baroness, queen of all things latex and dungeon-y, and Johanna Constantine, the woman with a flare for dissonance and rusty scythes.
If you want to get ready for the next vampire get-together be sure to order some fangs for yourself from Father Sebastiaan, one of last night's hosts, and he'll set you right up with a pair of elegant pointy canines and you can do away with the joke shop set.
