Cutting edge canine couture at FIT's third annual pet fashion show
The "pupparazzi" were out Wednesday! Last night the Fashion Institute of Technology hosted their third annual pet apparel fashion show, Fashion After Bark, and 14 furry cuties strutted their stuff to an adoring crowd of fans of trendy canine couture. Where were you, we ask?!
The clothes were all designed by students of the Pet Product Design and Marketing program at FIT, and boy do those sound like awesome classes. Several of the dogs featured in the show were from Posh Pets Rescue and were available for adoption, and we were ready to take all of them home, especially Timmy with the one white "sock."
We spotted one or two designs that we can picture on our own pooches, particular faves were designer Lisa Barnes of Turtlebacks Sedona inspired knits, she said her designs were available at Doggy Style in SoHo. Designer Lindsey McGraw of American Dog Apparel wore an outfit to match her lime green and navy doggy designs. --Gabi Porter
