Fashion's Night Out: 5th Avenue
Metromix hit the streets—and the parties—for Fashion's Night Out last night! From what we saw Muppets will be big next year, cupcakes are here to stay (forever) and wide brimmed felt hats make the boys look like hot preachers out of a Western. There was street food at Henri Bendel's as the third floor of the elegant department store was transformed into the Hester Street Market. In fact one of the cutest things we overheard all night was one young fashionista to another walking through the doors, "What do they have here?" Her friend answered, "They have FOOD!" Oh the little dears.
As fashionable shoppers stopped for a quick bite to regain their strength, we hit the pavement again and marched straight down to the Ace Hotel, for the Opening Ceremony Carnival de Mercado. Those trendsetters have for the second year in a row thrown the not-to-be-missed, hands down best FNO party ever. Who can say no to cotton candy and Belvedere gimlet sno cones and Muppet sweaters? Not us! And for those waiting to get inside the ultra cool lobby the Breslin was serving up snacks and there were carnival games aplenty to enjoy.
We made a quick pit stop at Patricia Field's bash, you can see more scenes from that party right here. Last stop of the night was the Creem Magazine after-party at Above Allen at the Thompson LES. We enjoyed a few cocktails from Pisco Porton as we all waited for the promised Victoria's Secret models to show up as Prince Terrence fired up the turntables. See you at Fashion Week!
