Three million people checked in on Saturday to celebrate Foursquare. We caught up with a few of them at SideBar.
When the real mayor of New York (Michael Bloomberg) announced that April 16 would be declared Foursquare Day (or 4SqDay), a few eyebrows may have been raised. But hey, the social media service has over six million users, grew by 3400% (yes, that's three thousand plus) last year and has almost 400 milliion check-ins annually. So give the company some credit. Three million people celebrated the Day on Saturday with check-ins, including one rather larger gathering at SideBar that we caught (as did the Foursquare CEO).
