A sunny afternoon of picnics, hot jazz and vintage bathing beauties on Governors Island
Michael Arenella and His Dreamland Orchestra threw another-late summer bash on Governors Island this past weekend. Metromix dropped in on a sunshine-filled Sunday to snap the vintage bathing beauty parade, shoulder to shoulder with Bill Cunningham from the New York Times and The Sartorialist. Picnickers enjoyed St Germain cocktails with their picnic fare, as well as the sounds of hot jazz from the Dreamland Orchestra and Drew Nugent and the Midnight Society and the sight of lindy hoppers undeterred by the late-summer heat wave. And The Minsky Sisters delighted the crowd with another tap routine straight out of the Ziegfield Follies.
