New Year's Eve Eve at The Salon
When Metromix found out that New York City had a pair of dueling New Year's Eve Eve parties, we knew we had to bring back dispatches from both. We're loving this eve of New Year's Eve trend, by the way! While Dances of Vice partied with a genteel air overlooking Gramercy Park, in the grittier midtown surroundings of Rebel, The Salon was throwing a gin (Hendricks, if you please!) soaked hootenanny with plenty of roof raising and barn storming and jelly rolling. Some of our favorite vintage party people were in attendance, Dandy Wellington and the Made to Measure Band provided the soundtrack, The Minsky Sisters showed everyone how it should be done and Loungerati's Fredo Ceraso created a cocktail menu that marked the first time, but hopefully not the last, that we got a decent drink at Rebel. Another French Gimlet, please! Hiccup! See you all out and about tonight.--Gabi Porter
