Papertopias: Frisky Faeries | Brooklyn Collective
Sometimes we take you to big and bold events, and sometimes we take you to intimate underground, cutting edge events, like last night's Frisky Faeries paper doll fashion show from Papertopias at the ultra cool Brooklyn Collective. Ruth Irving's life-size paper doll fashions were presented based on some of our favorite fairy stories--Alice in Wonderland's Queen of Hearts, Little Red Riding Hood and Glenda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz, were the whimsical characters on parade.
Host, the Brooklyn Collective is worth the trip to Columbia Street, not only can you buy Irving's renderings of her lovely paper dolls, but any number of well curated and irresistible bits and bobs. We may or may not have bought some jewelry...ahem. Guests were delighted with girlie pink cupcakes from the evening's paper doll herself, Lindsey Case (she models and she bakes!), that tempted the likes of Joseph Arthur who stumbled by the party on his way home from a grocery run.
