The new online stocking boutique opens with a racy burlesque bash at City Winery
Just in time for fall, Peek Brooklyn—a new online hosiery boutique—launched Friday night. Peek Brooklyn's owner Cristina Casciano-King and Doc Wasabassco, the "Kingpin of Burlesque" put their heads together and found the best way to get women into stockings is to watch other women take it off. And so a parade of some of New York's premiere burlesque queens took the stage, including Wasabassco's performer of the month Gigi La Femme, Gal Friday, Stormy Leather, Peekaboo Pointe and Medianoche.
The ladies delivered striptease with brains and balls, each performance different from the one before it. We loved Hazel Honeysuckle's classic strip to a lounge cover of "Ice, Ice Baby" and Peekaboo Pointe's dainty turn as a doll inside a music box which turned into a deliciously raunchy bump and grind. Mrs. Casciano-King showcased her high-end hosiery from around the world on some of the city's most beautiful legs. "Hopefully, I can bring as much joy to other women as hosiery has brought me," she said after the show. We'll drink to that.
