Professional Bull Riders NYC Invitational 2011 | Madison Square Garden
This weekend Madison Square Garden was taken over by cowboy hats and boots as fans of the PBR (Professional Bull Riders, in case you thought we were talking about beer) flocked to the arena for three days of adrenaline pumping excitement served up in eight second bundles.
Eight seconds is how long each rider must stay on a bucking bull to get a score, less than eight seconds and it's called "no ride." The world's best bull riders were assembled to take on the beasts and Metromix dropped in on the action, this year catching the bulls load-in on the first day. In the house were PBR heartthrob, JB Mauney, reigning world champ Renato Nunes and taking home the top scores in the NYC invitational was rising star from Brazil, Valdiron de Oliveira.
We swung by to visit revelers after the show at the official Jack Daniel's after-party at Mustang Harry's, where post-PBR the crowd was reluctant to take off the plaid and the boots, turn off the country music and get back to normal NYC life. We'll see you there next year! SEE COMPLETE GALLERY
