A wild weekend of bull riding and cowboy fun at MSG
Cowboys and bull riders (professional ones) invaded Madison Square Garden this weekend for the Professional Bull Riders NYC Invitational 2012. After three days and five rounds, 24-year old Cody Nance of Paris, TN, rode his way on his final bull, Sticker Shock, and took home a purse of around $40K. We had a chance to ask Cody what his favorite part of coming to New York each year was, and his answer was plain and simple, "The bull riding." Ours too, Cody.
Our other PBR weekend highlight: Former world champion Renato Nunes back-flipped off the rails after "riding" both his bulls on Sunday. Perhaps we should clarify: a rider "rides" a bull and qualifies for a score if he's able to stay on for eight seconds, less than eight seconds and it's deemed a "no ride." We'll stick to the mechanical bull at Johnny Utah's.
