Sara Valentine's Little Miss Big Mouth presents Voluption
Last night thrill seekers and admirers of all things weird and wonderful set out for Crown Heights and the mysterious Red Lotus Room to enjoy an evening of fast-paced performances and burlesque under the twinkly lights of Chinese lanterns.
Hosted by Sara Valentine and Hungry March Band, the night featured performances from The Ladies Auxiliary Ensemble, Zero Boy, Miss Ekaterina and many, many others. Down jackets rubbed shoulders with scantily clad pin-up girls, and there was even a half-man, half-monkey in a cage presiding over the back of the room.
A combination of voyeurism and participation prevailed, as the performances wound down and The Ladies Auxiliary and the live pin-ups grabbed the hands of those seated demurely at tables and brought them out to participate in the fun. --Gabi Porter
