The Champagne Riot Presents: Carnivale Exotique
We shook off the Friday the 13th heebie jeebies and made a beeline for Dominion last night to check out The Champagne Riot in their new-ish monthly digs. Sticking to an ever popular circus/carnival theme, the Carnivale Exotique was an exquisite, tongue-in-cheek (whose cheek, we won't say!) cabaret with a sword-swallowing Heather Holiday, the Evil Hate Monkey (careful if you're in the front row, he'll jump on you and make you eat a banana), burlesque from some gorgeous ladies including Gin Minsky, Jezebel Express, Harvest Moon and the Evil Hate Monkey's better half, Ms. Trixie Little. The evening's proceedings were hosted by the ever-charming Dandy Wellington, with a soundtrack from Jesse Gelber and his band.
