New York's latest landmark expands with more lawns, plazas and design
The High Line just got a whole lot bigger with the official opening of Section 2 on Wednesday. Stretching from West 20th to West 30th Streets, Section 2 effectively doubles the size of the High Line, New York's latest landmark designed from salvaged rail tracks on the West Side. In addition to the added space, the Highline now includes the art installation, "Rainbow City," from AOL and FriendsWithYou, plus the opening of The Lot, a public plaza at 30th Street, which is set to host food trucks a plenty and a planned beer garden from Tom Colicchio called The Lot on Tap.
