A dapper way to (almost) end 2011 in Times Square
Right off of Times Square, spittin' distance from where the ball drops, a very different kind of early New Year celebration was happening. In the revamped, rebranded and relocated Copacabana, Patrick Soluri and the crew from The Salon threw a a proper, old-school bash. The ladies put on their most elegant gowns, gentlemen their most dapper three-piece suits and both danced the night away. No party from The Salon is complete without a bespoke cocktail menu from Fredo Ceraso of Loungerati, and poor Fredo mixed cocktails for the 800-some guests. Dandy Wellington MC-ed the celebration, with burlesque performance from the Minsky Sisters, Gal Friday, Hazel Honeysuckle and Legs Malone. And the dance floor was kept hopping with tunes from the George Gee Swing Orchestra, Queen Esther and the Hot Five and the Michael Arenella Quintet.--Gabi Porter
