TheDanger's Within the Land of Ash
Last night mysterious underground art party people TheDanger threw a blow out eve of All Hallow's Eve party that took over five warehouse spaces in Bushwick. Billed as an extraordinary 12-hour Dia del Muerte-themed celebration with "unlimited capacity," the FDNY had other things to say about a party allegedly big enough for 70,000. Right around midnight the parties were getting shut down one-by-one. With no clear center to the festivities, lines that stretched for blocks, and waits that lasted for hours, the party inevitably spilled out onto the streets.
We spotted a rococo carriage pulling "the emperor" and pausing for spontaneous minuets in the street danced by a Mozart meets disco procession of powdered wig clad revelers. There was a New Orleans style brass band that led be-costumed hipsters through the streets like the Pied Pipers of Hamlin. And back at HQ 3rd Ward, there was a white clad bacchanal on top of an old jeep. MORE PHOTOS
