Apparently circus themed parties are all the rage this season. Alex Kay and his crew from Unicorn Meat threw another circus party to ring in the New Year, but honestly we don't mind because who doesn't love techno clowns, three rings and some sword-swallowing sideshows? In the fuzzy area between Crown Heights and Bed-Stuy, scantily clad "burners" waited for the ball to drop in the rabbit warren of party spaces. Aside from the main floor with the party banger DJs and an occasional pyrotechnic show, there was chilling out in the Silent Disco tent where revelers partied with headphones to a synchronized DJ soundtrack, there was body painting in another area, and there was an Oompah Loompah Tea Tent with live sitar music. But we realized we would see no better during the night when Alex Kay showed up riding an actual unicorn. Goodnight, that's all she wrote. Happy 2012!
