Based on the cult film, this jukebox musical adds to the glamor of modern Broadway. Three Australian drag queens take a road trip to the middle of the Outback to perform their show. We caught a glimpse of the show in rehearsal, but missed the show's real star: gorgeous costumes with feathers, make-up, and extra-high heels!

How do you open a jukebox revue based on the classic Australian drag flick? A sequin-spackled kickline set to “It's Raining Men”, obviously! 'Priscilla' is a kitsch extravaganza, a fun evening of wigs that are two feet high and penciled eyebrows that go even higher. The cutesy plot follows a drag artiste who schleps from Syndey to Alice Springs to meet his five-year-old son and bring his floorshow to a local casino. We learn a little, we laugh a little, we love a little. But an authentic emotion is about as rare as an untweezed eyebrow hair. Only Tony Sheldon, as a gal who's aging out of the life, suggests there's a person under the makeup. So don't buy tickets expecting substance. Turn off your mind to enjoy such surreal sights as a chorus of cupcake drag twirling to the camp classic, “MacArthur Park”.
