EVENTS: More free coffee for New Yorkers!

Everyone loves free coffee! Except me. It makes me sweat. Offering me free coffee is a slap in the face. 

Anyway...

Dunkin' Donuts, who do make delicious java, have a new NYC-based promotion coming up, one directly competing with the food-ordering behemoth Seamless and their free java offer. On Feb. 10 and 12 (next Tue. and Thu.), their so-called "Latte Spies" will be handing out $5 gift cards to anyone they see holding a Dunkin' Donuts bag or cup during their morning commute. The fact that our DD cup is full of whiskey and Quaker Instant Oatmeal (we call it "whorridge")? Unimportant to them.

Also, four lucky commuters--and you guys are lucky to be commuting somewhere because you have something to do--will received $99 gift cards. (Apparently, this is a tie-in to Dunkin's new "99 cent lattes"...I do not trust the sound of this. Have you read our Dollar Grub articles? There's a reason things cost only a dollar.)

According to our DD rep, the "Latte spies" will travel on foot, as well as the LIRR, Subway, NJT and Hoboken Ferry, at these locations:

• Hicksville, Long Island and Penn Station/Herald Square (Tuesday, February 10)
• Iselin, Secaucus and Hoboken, NJ and NYC (Thursday, February 12)
