MUSIC: Panic! at the Disco at Angels & Kings (with FOB and Blink cameos)
On the inaugural night of Angels & Kings' "AKoustic Monday," sweaty fans were treated to a mini-set of music by Panic! at the Disco's Brendon Urie. While the frontman for the recently reconfigured band offered up nothing new, he did inspire a singalong to a cover of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'." Also on hand: Pete Wentz (you can see him, wearing the white hat, to the side of the stage), Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 (getting mobbed at the seats in back) and Vinnie from I Am the Avalanche, who landed the night's headline slot and performed a set that leaned heavily on his days in The Movielife (a.k.a. the best band from Long Island you never heard).
It's a weekly gathering, and the prices were good ($2 PBRs!), sound levels were OK (at least later in the evening) and we're all for star cameos. We have but one quibble: fix the A.C. Please.
