Families can enjoy a playground area, a small but lovely boardwalk and the slender Sound-side beach, but later in the even the restaurant sneaks in a DJ and throws down friendly laid-back bashes. True, this is no lounge and the trend-oid factor is zero, but it makes for an old-fashioned, all-ages block party that is open to all. Once you arrive, check the posted itinerary for the season as everything from craft fairs to car shows go down until the leaves start curling.
