"Quantum Leap," eat your plot—er, heart—out.
Time is ticking for Jake Gyllenhaal in "Source Code," as he repeatedly gets an eight minute window into the past in which he must try and locate a bomber on a commuter train.
Directed by Duncan Jones (helmer of British indie film "Moon" and son of David Bowie), "Source Code" creates a sci-fi thriller world where Colter Stevens (Gyllenhaal), a decorated army pilot stationed in Afghanistan, suddenly finds himself trapped in a small, mysterious dome being given instructions by Air Force Captain Colleen Goodwin (Vera Farmiga). The Source Code project allows Stevens to access a time loop so that he can reenact the last eight minutes of someone's life by taking over his or her body. His new mission is to find the bomber of a train headed into Chicago in order to prevent a larger nuclear device from detonating and killing millions of people.
Messing with time and space has its twists and turns as Stevens tries to save Christina Warren (Michelle Monaghan)—another passenger on the train—who will change his life in unexpected ways.
