In the midst of the Algerian Civil War, Dr. Amel (Rachida Brakni) is horrified when her husband, an outspoken journalist, disappears without a trace. When the authorities refuse to consider foul play, Amel appeals for help to her neighbor Khadidja (Fettouma Bouamari), an embittered middle-aged woman and former Algerian revolutionary. As the two women set out into the treacherous countryside to search for the missing man, they struggle to bridge the generation gap between them.
