Ledger seems destined to be remembered for his most serious work, but here's hoping time doesn't forget his thoroughly charming turn in this playful period romp (looser, wittier and more romantic than Lasse Hallström's labored "Casanova"). Even with co-star Paul Bettany stealing scenes left and right, Ledger proves himself as a charismatic, good-humored leading man. We all deserved to see that side of him more often.
