'Lioness'
Credit:Lloyd Francis Jr.
Women in the military are still not permitted to serve in combat operations. But in this documentary, filmmakers Meg McLagan and Daria Sommers profile five women who served in Iraq in a moment of crisis. Although these women were officially clerks, cooks and mechanics, as part of “Team Lioness” they were expected to help defuse tensions between the U.S. military and Iraqi civilians. But as shown, even the most civilian duties quickly become hazardous in Iraq.
