'Lake City'

Convincing stars like Sissy Spacek and the musician Dave Matthews to appear in your first feature is a coup when it comes to getting into festivals or convincing people to see your film. But first-time filmmakers Perry Moore and Hunter Hill take on the challenge with “Lake City,” a story of Billy (Troy Garity), a father on the run after his estranged wife steals from her drug dealer (played by Matthews). Billy and his son go back to his mother’s house in rural Virginia, where he addresses the issues that caused him to leave home in the first place.
