'Head Wind'
Credit:Mohammad Rasoulof
Iranian filmmakers have given us some of the most beautiful and challenging films of the past decade, but a scant few have taken on the political issues that continue to impact the people living in Iran. In the documentary “Head Wind,” Mohammad Rasoulof dives into the underground world of the illegal distribution of Western film, music and, most important, information. Rasoulof’s previous feature, “Iron Island,” told the story of Arab-Iranians living on an abandoned oil tanker in the Persian Gulf. In this film, he takes on another taboo topic in Iranian culture with similar stellar results.
