Al Green's classic 'Let's Stay Together' was sung at inaugural ball, but not by Green, leaving many to wonder why the soul legend wasn't singing his own hit for President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama.

Why didn't Al Green sing his own song, Let's Stay Together, at the inaugural ball instead of Jennifer Hudson? President Obama, who sang a bit of the classic soul tune at an event that Green attended last year, is clearly a fan. How do you say no to the president?
In a statement to the Associated Press, his representative said Green was asked to sing, but scheduling conflicts prevented him from attending Monday's festivities. Green said he'd be honored to sing for the president in the future.
What could that conflict have been?
The Presidential Inaugural Committee has not commented.
