The Academy of Country Music Awards has recruited some big names, and some new ones, to perform at this year's April 7 show (CBS, 8 p.m. ET/tape delay PT).

Luke Bryan, Kelly Clarkson, Hunter Hayes, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, George Strait and the Band Perry are the first round of performers confirmed to play at the live awards ceremony. The Las Vegas show will be co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton.

Bryan is also nominated for four awards and is on the road for his Dirt Road Diaries tour. Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson already has two ACM awards to her credit and is up for vocal event of the year. Hunter Hayes, the newest country sensation, is up for six awards and is on tour with Carrie Underwood.

Lambert and Shelton reign as ACM's male and female vocalists of the year and are nominated again this year. George Strait, the most veteran act announced so far, has won 20 ACM awards.
