Back in 1996 Spacehog ruled alternative radio with In the Meantime, a trippy, infectious tune inspired by Bowie at glam rock's glittery peak.

This year, the Brits return with As It Is On Earth, their first album since 2001. I like what I've heard so far and am thrilled that the tunes demonstrate the band has grown but not abandoned the style that made them famous.

Today I'm premiering one of my favorite tracks from the record, Try to Remember. Here's what singer Royston Langdon tells us about it:

I wrote Try to Remember with my younger brother Chris as I was on the verge of a divorce. It deals with the slippery slope of memory and thought as it begins to shift on itself and the fear of looking forward, where there is often doubt nor backward where there can be regret. So instead I began to look inward and ask not for want of anything outside, but whether there was anything left inside not yet unpacked. My search goes on daily as I sift through the perilous rubble of nostalgia. I do my best not to get trapped in it. Be warned, it's a very curious and dangerous thing.

Hear/share it now:

As It Is On Earth goes on sale April 16. The self-release and upcoming tour were partly funded by fans via PledgeMusic.
