Green Day will make its South By Southwest debut on March 15, the band's first live show since frontman Billie Joe Armstrong went into rehab last fall.

The Austin festival marks the worldwide premiere of the band's American Idiot documentary, which chronicles the adaptation of the album as a Tony Award-nominated Broadway musical. A second documentary, Cuatro!, tracks the making of Green Day's recent Uno!, Dos! and Tré! albums. The band performs as part of the fest's ACL Live series.

Last September, Armstrong's meltdown at the iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas propelled him into treatment for substance abuse, disrupting an extensive promotional campaign for the trilogy and forcing the pop-punk trio to cancel shows for 2012 and early 2013.

The band's postponed tour dates kick off March 28 in Rosemont, Ill.
